At Shift Happens – School of Motoring, we believe in keeping things clear, fair, and fuss-free. These Terms & Conditions outline what you can expect from us and what we ask in return when booking lessons. They help protect both you and your instructor, and ensure a smooth learning experience from first lesson to test day.

Shift Happens – School of Motoring

By booking driving lessons with Shift Happens – School of Motoring, you agree to the following terms and conditions:

1. Lesson Bookings

All lessons must be booked in advance via phone, email, or online form.

Lessons are subject to instructor availability.

A standard lesson duration is [e.g. 2 hours], unless otherwise agreed.

2. Payments

Lessons must be paid for in advance or at the start of each lesson.

Block bookings must be paid in full before the first lesson.

Payment methods accepted: cash or bank transfer.

3. Cancellations

A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule a lesson.

Late cancellations or no-shows may be charged in full at the instructor’s discretion.

If the instructor needs to cancel a lesson (e.g. illness, vehicle issues), an alternative date will be offered as soon as possible.

4. Student Responsibilities

You must hold a valid UK provisional driving licence and bring it to your first lesson.

You must inform the instructor of any medical conditions, eyesight issues, or medication that may affect your driving.

You must not be under the influence of alcohol or drugs. The instructor reserves the right to refuse the lesson if you are unfit to drive.

5. Instructor Rights

The instructor may withhold use of the car for the driving test if they believe the student is not ready.

The instructor reserves the right to terminate lessons due to misconduct, abuse, or inappropriate behaviour.

6. Driving Tests

Use of the instructor’s car for a driving test is subject to their approval.

A separate fee may apply for the use of the car during the test.

7. Liability

The instructor accepts no liability for any injury, loss, or damage arising during lessons or as a result of the student’s driving.

The instructor’s vehicle is fully insured for driving tuition and practical tests.

8. Changes to Terms

Shift Happens – School of Motoring reserves the right to update these terms at any time. Any changes will be published on the website.
